The FIAT 500 is Coming to America

The combination of low cost and efficiency have established the Fiat 500 as the best European small car and later this year the car will be available in the US.

For the second year in a row, the well built Fiat 500 was awarded top honours in the UK’s supermini (subcompact) category of the What Car? Green Awards for 2010.

The Fiat 500 is affordable, efficient, stylish, and most importantly, at 58.9 mpg, it is amongst the most fuel efficient vehicles in Europe. The Fiat 500 is available with a choice of three ultra-low emissions, Euro 5-compliant engines: a 69bhp 1.2-litre and a 100bhp 1.4-litre petrol, or a 95bhp 1.3-litre MultiJet turbodiesel. This little car offers great value for the money.

As part of Chrysler Group’s recovery plans in the US, the 2011 Fiat 500 will be sold by Chrysler dealers later this year. The new 500 will be modified for the American market, it will be built in Mexico with 1.4 liter 4-cylinder engines built in Michigan. Early offerings are expected to have a 97-hp output and a 6-speed manual transmission.
