25 years of Recycling in New Jersey

A Celebration of 25 years of Recycling in New Jersey will take place on April 24, 2012 1 – 7:30 p.m. The event will take place at Richard Stockton College of New Jersey Campus Center, 101 Vera King Farris Drive
Galloway, NJ 08205-9441.

The NJ Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), in partnership with the Atlantic County Utilities Authority (ACUA) and the Hughes Center for Public Policy at the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey, will celebrate the 25th anniversary of New Jersey’s Recycling Mandate.

Former New Jersey Governor Tom Kean, who signed the original bill into law, will deliver the keynote address. This one day symposium will be more than a celebration and offers recycling professionals the opportunity to obtain up to 4.5 continuing education credits.

The afternoon sessions will begin with addresses by NJDEP Commissioner Bob Martin (invited) and Assistant Commissioner Jane Kozinski. Members of three panels will follow with discussions of the current state of recycling in New Jersey, new technologies and innovations, and a look back at the events and people whose work established New Jersey as an environmental leader with the April 1987 passage of the New Jersey Statewide Mandatory Source Separation and Recycling Act.

An informal dinner reception will follow the afternoon panels. The day will culminate with a keynote address by Governor Kean. The cost to attend is $55. To see the agenda or to register click here.
