The Triple Bottom Line Investment Conference 2012 (Event)

On November 8 and 9, the Triple Bottom Line Investment (TBLI) CONFERENCE 2012, will take place in Zurich, Switzerland. The TBLI Conference is the largest and longest running conference in the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) investment industry – which is devoted to mobilizing Capital for Good.

Who Will Be There

The 14th annual TBLI CONFERENCE will be attended by the most influential and wealthy asset owners, asset managers, sustainability professionals and others in the ESG and impact investing space such as BNY Mellon Asset Management, Bank Sarasin & Cie Ltd, Natixis AM, SAM (Dow Jones Sustainable Index) just to name a few.

Keynote Speakers

Opening the conference is Pavan Sukhdev the Founder-CEO of GIST Advisory, an environmental consulting firm which helps governments and corporations discover, value and manage their impacts on natural and human capital.

Paul Rose, BBC Explorer, Vice President of the Royal Geographical Society and Chair of the Expeditions and Fieldwork Division and expert polar, environmental, exploration and field science consultant will interview Pavan Sukhdev about ‘Corporation 2020’ his sweeping new vision for tomorrow’s corporation: one that will increase human well-being and social equity, decrease environmental risks and ecological losses, and still generate profit.

Even luxury can be transformed into a weapon for sustainability, according to keynote speaker Martin Rapaport who will give an overview of the sustainable economic development movement where the diamond industry is working on initiatives to create grass root microeconomic benefits in impoverished societies.

Steve Howard, Chief Sustainability Officer at IKEA and a member of its Executive Management Committee, believes that sustainability will be one of the mega-trends that shape society and the business landscape this century. In his keynote he will share his views on developing innovative ways to make sustainability attractive and affordable for everyone.

Maria Bello the internationally renowned actor and women’s rights activist and the co-founder of We Advance (www.weadvance.org) will be the keynote speaker for the Grand Dinner. We Advance is a women’s movement and NGO based in Cite Soleil, Haiti. The organization advocates for women throughout the country to have full political, economic, and social participation.

Economic Crisis

Can ESG and IMPACT Investing be the solution to the current Economic Crisis?
The current economic crisis has highlighted fundamental flaws in our financial market systems. With the mission of mobilizing capital for sustainable investments, the conference will tackle head-on, the biggest worldwide issues in several roundtable sessions and workshops with topics like: How Sustainable is ESG Investing in Times of Financial Crisis? Sustainable Investment in China, India, Japan, USA, EU up to 2020.

TBLI ESG Leaders Awards 2012

During the Grand Dinner the Winners of the TBLI ESG Leaders Awards 2012 will be announced. For 6 years TBLI has been handing out the prestigious ESG Leaders Awards at the TBLI CONFERENCE. The aim of the TBLI ESG Leaders Awards is to spotlight the investors and practitioners for their achievement and success in ESG & Impact Investing.
