Using satellite images from the last four decades we now have clear visual evidence of the impact of decades of human activity on the world’s ecosystems and the startling rates of environmental destruction. This is particularly true of the Amazon rainforest which is disappearing at an alarming rate to provide land for farming and raising cattle. This video is constructed from Landsat satellite imagery which provides critical scientific information about our changing planet.
