
The Edmonton Green Homes Summit will take place on January 29, 2015. It will focus on residential
construction, covering both single-family homes (including townhomes and
various attached styles) and multifamily projects up to the midrise
level (up to 12 storeys), and will include sessions on LEED Canada for
Homes, and many regional energy and green building standards.
Agenda includes full day of sessions and expert
presenters
The agenda includes a morning keynote presentation, a number of expert
plenary sessions, and ample opportunity to network with fellow members
of the industry.
Announcing keynote speaker: Sean Pander, Green Building Program Manager, City of Vancouver
Sean will present a keynote titled Greenest City
Approaches to Buildings: Creating Opportunities for People and Business
on how green buildings form a key element of Vancouver’s Greenest City
Action Plan, the tools and approaches the City is using to achieve its
targets and how this creates opportunities for both people and business.
He is an engineering graduate from the University of
Alberta that has been involved in private and public sector energy work
for over 20 years. He was the senior energy and climate planner for
Vancouver between 2003 and 2011, during which time he established and
led the team tasked with implementing energy and green building plans,
programs, and policies for the City.
More recently, he oversaw the development of the
City’s Greenest City 2020 Action Plan and now directly manages the
City’s Green Buildings Team that is accountable for meeting Vancouver’s
target of carbon neutral new construction by 2020 while reducing
emissions from existing buildings by 20% across the city.
